Join people of faith and goodwill for Solidarity Sunday in support of freedom for refugees.
When: Sunday, 14 March 2021 from 4:30 - 5:30 pm Where: 721 Main St, Kangaroo Point QLD 4169, Australia
Corner of Main and Lockerbie streets
Details: Love Makes A Way Facebook Event
Nineteen men are still locked up at Kangaroo Point hotel in Brisbane.
Together, we will stand witness to the cause of justice, compassion and welcome, and call for an end to the cruelty of indefinite detention.
We are joined by the wonderful Mostafa Azimitabar who was released from the Park Hotel prison in Melbourne. Moz is using his new found freedom to stand with his brothers, including the men here in Brisbane.
Let's gather on the corner of Main and Lockerbie streets (not Walmsley as the men have been moved into the building near Lockerbie St) to stand in solidarity with the 19 men who are still detained, to show they are not forgotten.
This is a family-friendly event, hosted by local Christians and open to people of all faiths or none. Please bring along your family and friends and show our refugee friends they are not forgotten and that we will continue to stand with them in their struggle for freedom.
Love Will Win!
This event will take place on the stolen lands of the Yuggera and Turrbal peoples, whose sovereignty has never been ceded.
