Stand in solidarity with the women of Afghanistan
SUNDAY, 19 SEPTEMBER, 2PM KING GEORGE SQUARE, BRISBANE CITY
MEDIA RELEASE 17.09.2021
RALLY FOR WOMEN OF AFGHANISTAN
BRAVELY STANDING AGAINST THE TALIBAN BRUTALITY
Auzra Network, with Diaspora Advocacy Network for Afghanistan, calls upon the Australian Government and the international community to stand in solidarity with the women of Afghanistan.
The forces of evil, the Taliban has usurped power after 20 years of REBUILDING! The shameful deal with Taliban representatives signed by the Allies and US in Doha to leave Afghanistan by the end of August 2021 has ended in chaos and created a humanitarian crisis.
Mass killings, displacement, violation of human rights, ethnic cleansing and the subjugation of women to strict sharia laws with no right to work, all make international headlines.
The Auzra Network and Diaspora Advocacy Network for Afghanistan have already used many channels, and are now organising particularly this rally, to urge the Australian government and international community to stand in solidarity with Afghan women against the theocratic monarchs and echo the voice of women of Afghanistan on every platform.
The Diaspora Advocacy Network for Afghanistan (DANA) is a collective of individuals from Afghanistan’s diaspora community who have come together to advocate for the people of Afghanistan. We stand for the rights of the vulnerable including ethnic and religious minorities, for example, Hazara, LGTBQI+, women and girls, children, journalists, human rights defenders, social activists, and those who worked with the U.S. and its allies who are at the risk of being persecuted in Afghanistan.
Auzra Network is one of our media channels to promote our work and vision for a better representation of the Hazara community in Australia and beyond.
