5 March 2021
Dawn to dusk vigils are being held TODAY to mark the third year that Priya, Nades and their daughters have been in detention. Can you join one of these peaceful vigils happening across Australia, from Biloela to Christmas Island?
Nades, Priya and their daughters are treasured members of the Biloela community. At 5am on Monday 5th March 2018, Australian Border Force officials, accompanied by police and Serco guards, arrived at the family’s home, allowed them only 10 minutes to pack, and took them away to a Melbourne detention centre. Now they're being held on Christmas Island, 5,000km from Biloela.
Biloela wants this family back. It's time to bring this peaceful, hardworking family home to Biloela, where they are wanted and welcome.
Please stand in support of this beautiful family and the #hometobilo community. Dawn to Dusk vigils will start in Biloela's Lion's Park at 5am (QLD time) and finish at the Cove Gazebos on Christmas Island at 4:30pm (local time).
